Hadith — teachings of the Prophet ﷺ
Hadith are the recorded sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Together with the Qur’an, they are the foundation of Islamic guidance. Everything shown here is fetched from the canonical source and cited.
There are many collections of hadith, and they are not all held to the same standard. The two below — Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim — were each compiled to a strict test of authenticity, and together they are the most trusted collections in Islam. We show you these two rather than everything, so you don’t have to work out on your own which reports are strong.
Scholars also grade individual hadith, and that is their work, not ours — so Rafīq shows you the text and its source, and never tells you how strong a particular report is. Open any book below to read it.
